Mitchel Truman Siegert founded Truman Chocolates in 2006 with a vision. He wanted to provide indulgent, decadent, visually stunning chocolates to chocolate-lovers in Texas. Mitch’s passion for food and his boundless creativity led him to the Culinary Institute of America in New York, where he earned degrees in both Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Arts. His hunger to learn more led him to The Food Network where he worked alongside chefs including Emeril Legasse, Bobby Flay, and Rachel Ray.
With the help of world-renowned chef Ewald Notter, he found his love for chocolate and realized his desire to share this passion with the world through a family-owned chocolate shop in his hometown. He created 16 original flavors in a kitchen built with his own two hands. Since opening in 2006, he has created more flavors and designs with an undying passion and love for his craft. Truman Chocolates continues to grow and has evolved into a family business. Mitch met his wife, Jenny, in 2008 at the chocolate shop. They married in 2014 and welcomed a baby girl in 2018. Jenny also works at the shop, along with their daughter from time to time.
